How to style you television AND make it look pretty!!

How to style your television

1. AVOID SMALL MEDIA UNITS

Avoid buying a media unit that is the same size or only just a bit larger than your TV. This creates a top-heavy feel which makes the space feel unbalanced.

2. BUY A UNIT MUCH LARGER THAN YOUR TV

If you have the space buy a media unit that is much, much wider than your TV. This immediately takes the focus off the TV and gives you space to accessorise.

3. TRY ASYMMETRY!

Avoid having your TV dead centre. This draws more attention to it and also doesn’t give you the room to create a well-balanced arrangement.

4. ADD PRETTY ACCESSORIES

By using artwork, lamps, plants and other decorative accessories you can create a pretty display that takes the visual focus off the TV because TVs aren’t really that pretty (unless you have some super sexy ‘art tv’). Add some elements that bring height to your display, they will create visual interest and structure.

5. USE TEXTURED MATERIALS

TVs are shiny and hard. So choose soft and textured materials to create a more diverse-looking arrangement that contrasts with the sleek, smoothness of the TV.

And there you have it. How to style your television and transform it from unsightly to gorgeous!
